PAINT NITE: ACRYLIC WATERMELONS
MATERIALS FOR ACRYLIC VERSION
PENCIL FOR INITIAL DRAWING
SURFACE:
Canvas, board, wood or canvas paper.
I used a Daler-Rowney 10x8” Canvas
BRUSHES:
a variety of sizes if you have them. If not, any brush will be fine
I used Robert Simmons Titanium Brush in Flat #4 and Flat Glaze #1
PAINTERS TAPE (OPTIONAL)
This is a little trick for those who want really clean lines around your watermelon slices. You can use painters tape around the slice of watermelon, paint it, and then remove the tape.
PAINT:
Red, Blue, Yellow, Black, White if you would like to mix your own colours OR Magenta, green, white, black
I used System 3 Acrylics - Process Magenta, Sap Green, White.
(OPTIONAL) For the seeds, I used System 3 Fluid Acrylic in black with the FW Mixed Media Paint Marker (size 0.8mm) for extra precision. This is optional. You can use a fine brush for this step as well.

SURFACE: Watercolour paper
I used Saunders Waterford Block Cold Press 8x10”
BRUSHES: a variety of sizes!
I used Robert Simmons White Sable Flat #1/4 and Round #30
PAINTERS TAPE
Tape around your paper onto a hard surface. This will help to prevent the paper from buckling when you are painting. Then when your piece is dry, you can remove the tape and you’ll have a clean white frame!
PAINT: Red or Magenta, Green, and Blue
I used Maimeri Blu watercolours - Primary Red Magenta, Cupic Green Light, Turquoise Green
